Haywards farmshop was established in 2016 and has changed every year since. When we first moved in, we completely stripped and refitted the whole shop giving it a brand-new lease of life inside and out using the same colour scheme as our butcher shop. We wanted the farmshop to have a European feel to it by promoting fresh, local vibrant products. We have made haywards farmshop a one stop shop for everything needed when it comes to meal planning. We now have a fantastic courtyard area which is used for events such as supper clubs and meat festivals. With our new kitchen coming online soon we hope to push forward with new lines and products.

Established in 1932 by Ethel and George Hepburn, we have always strived to be the very best butcher in Essex.
From humble beginnings to present day, our company has evolved a great deal – leading the way in bespoke butchery, bacon production techniques and home cuisine.
However, we also still keep a strong sense of tradition at the heart of our business and that is reflected in the meat we prepare and in the food we create.
Be it sausages, pies or casseroles, everything we do is handmade in our kitchens and in small batches, with an unwavering passion and commitment to always create something that is truly special.
Four generations on, we are still loving this fabulous food journey.

Ramsey Master Butcher
Ramsey Master Butchers has been a butcher’s shop since 1938. I, Joe Pedersen, took the shop and business over in May 2017 and expanded the business greatly. I have had an experience of 14 years having my own business. I am a traditional master butcher from Denmark. I learnt the trade over there where my family were at the time. I brought my perseverance and skills over to the UK when I was only 21.
I’m always trying to give young people the opportunity to develop their skills in the trade otherwise there will be no future for butchery as a whole trade. With having an apprentice currently learning the trade and another one who is getting on nicely.

Whilst we never lose sight of the fact that our success is built on our role as the local family butcher, offering traditional quality meat products, we have also expanded and diversified our product range to include pies, cooked meats and a wide range of delicious hand made sausages.
